When Hannah began attending SGVCC in fourth grade, she did not know that a Saturday choir class would become one of the most significant influences in her life. Early pitch challenges left her discouraged, and her first annual concert brought nerves and the desire to give up.
Remembering the preparation invested by Mr. and Mrs. Lin helped her persevere. Concerts gradually became easier, stage fright faded, and she came to understand the patience and dedication required of her teachers.
Choir became a welcome source of consistency and enjoyment. The 2016 Europe tour—her first time traveling without her parents—introduced her to new countries, cultures, languages, and unforgettable churches.
Her favorite memory was the final performance with a college choir, when months of work came together in one perfectly unified final note. Under Mr. Lin’s guidance, singing became something her shy eight-year-old self could never have imagined enjoying.
Hannah credits SGVCC with opening new doors, broadening her perspective, and helping shape her into a more confident and persevering person.
